How to Be Mindful

I first came across this idea living in Colombia. I used to spend my vacations thinking about how my life would be in the future, what I would be doing, and where I would be living. Although I have developed the meaning ever since, to me it started as “being aware of my surroundings.” To me it meant enjoying the presence of those around me and grasping the hidden queues that were floating in the interactions occurring in front of me. I learned that there is a time for everything and sometimes being mindful of this can help us make the most out of every opportunity.

Today I want to share two reminders I constantly use to be mindful: Continue reading “How to Be Mindful”

3 Tips to Speak in Public

I started speaking in public from an early age. Throughout my early schooling and extracurriculars, I always tried to get involved in activities that required a presentation or any sort of public speaking. I remember stumbling often, making mistakes, and forgetting what I was talking about. Although I started being very bad, I started getting better once I learned certain aspects of public speaking that made it easier to be comfortable in front of a crowd of people.

Today I want to share with you three tips to improve your public speaking exponentially: Continue reading “3 Tips to Speak in Public”

What Are the 9 Fruits of the Spirit?

Today I want to go over two verses in Galatians 5. Verses 22 and 23 go over the Fruits of the Spirit. The Fruits of the Spirit are the product of a well-developed spirit and reflect the growth of a believer. In nature, the fruit grows as long as the plant grows and falls if the plant goes dormant. This too can happen to our spirits and that’s why it’s so important to know the 9 Fruits of the Spirit, so we can be aware of our growth. These fruits are a choice that we need to make every day and just like in nature, they are a product our growth and self-care. Continue reading “What Are the 9 Fruits of the Spirit?”

Lately I’ve been learning a lot about patience. Either through my own experiences or by witnessing others, patience is such a critical skill to have. When was the last time somebody tested your patience? If it was pretty recent or if you’re just curious to learn, let’s go over 3 steps you can take to become more patient: Continue reading “3 Steps to Becoming More Patient”

From Zero to Hero

I’ve been happy with the latest superhero rise to mainstream because even though I never read comics growing up, I played almost all the superhero video games I could get my hands into. The thought of being phenomenal has always been on my mind and the more I grow, the more I’m able to transform that thought into to a concept. The basic superhero premise is you start simple, then something happens to you to acquire a skill or power, and through training and practice you become a world-saving superhero. Some heroes may have different stories, but the concept is usually the same, they start small and grow big.

Today I want to share with you how to go from zero to hero in three simple ways: Continue reading “From Zero to Hero”

Absolute Confidence

There are times I feel on a drought, as if no matter where I turn to, I still find no answer to what I’m looking for. It feels like being stranded with no assurance of what’s about to come next. Have you ever felt this way? When I feel this way, I to go to verses like the ones in Matthew 14. In verses 22 to 33, the Bible shares the story about Jesus walking on water. This story shows that when we believe and have faith, we can achieve what we set our minds to do, no matter the obstacles that we may encounter.

Today I want to share with you three thoughts that can help you have absolute confidence in what’s to come: Continue reading “Absolute Confidence”

Living as An Investment

There have been some moments in my life when I realize I just made a discovery, a moment so clear that I felt ecstatic. One of those moments was when I realized my life was an investment. Not the type of investment you put money in on and walk away, this was the type of investment that required a life-long commitment.

I was driving along the county roads of Florida when the idea hit me.  Continue reading “Living as An Investment”
